Emma's Redecorating Project

For Emma's Birthday she asked for a new room.  She wanted money to let her creative juices flow.  She looked online for things that she liked and we shopped looking for the right color scheme then we had to wait for a spare weekend to put it all together.  Here is what the final results look like.

First she painted the canvas an accent yellow and splattered it with grey and red.  Then she took toilet paper rolls, painted them gray and then cut them into "petals."  Then she arranged the petals into flowers on the canvas. The final product is below.  We have yet to hang it on the wall because she plans to paint big yellow flowers on the gray wall behind it.
She took the two colors of the selected bedding and decided to paint two walls with each color.  We had to convince her that it would be best to do both the yellow and the gray in very muted tones.  Her first choice was a very BRIGHT Yellow and DARK Gray.  Maybe they would have looked great but we were worried about a tunnel effect.
No, it is not a stuffed animal.  Griffin likes to be in the center of pictures. Notice the pillow on the bed.  This was the first thing she found and based the entire room around this pillow.  It has a stitched dragon fly on the front.

She had a very specific idea when it came to the window coverings.  She wanted a rod with a special doo-whop at the end.

Wow! I wish I had that much creativity when I was 13. Tell Emma that if she's ever on the east coast, she is more than welcome to on by and see what she can do for Lydia's bedroom and the home office. :)
